In the early morning of October 25th, 1949, at Guningtou, Kinmen, Communist forces mounted a fierce attack upon the ROC defenders. It was withering 56 hour fight on land, sea, and air. It was a battle that secured a victory for Taiwan, and would set the two sides of that strait along two different futures.
