One day, my mom and I took MRT to Beitou Station to buy some furniture. When I was talking to my mom, I noticed three girls
sitting near us were speaking English. Their accent sounded strange, and they looked more like people from the South East Asian countries, such as Thailand or Vietnam. One of them was very sexy, and the other two were cute, too. As soon as my mom and I walked out of the train, they also got off at the same station. I turned back and started talking to them, focusing on the sexy one. This is called the pickup skill of “Asking Whatever Question You Have.”
某天我和我媽坐捷運，準備到捷運北投站附近的家具店看家具。我在和媽媽說話的時候，發現坐在我們附近的三個女生在講英文。她們的口音聽來有點奇怪，而且看起來像是從東南亞國家─泰國或越南來的旅客。其中一位看起來非常性感，另外兩位也相當可愛。當我和母親走出車廂時，她們剛好也在同一站下車。我立刻轉身和她們說話，並把焦點集中在最性感的那位女孩身上。這就是所謂搭訕技巧中的「想問什麼就問什麼」搭訕法。
「Hi, where are you guys from?」（嗨，請問你們從哪裡來啊？）
「We are from Singapore.」（我們來自新加坡。）
「Oh, that’s why! I was wondering where you are from because you don’t sound like an American.」（哦，難怪！我剛才還在想你們到底從哪裡來，因為你們的英語並不是美式腔調。）
「Ya, we speak “Singlish,” haha.」（沒錯，我們講的是新加坡式英語。）
「I visited Singapore three months ago, so I had been quite familiar with the accent there.」（我三個月前才剛去新加坡，所以對那裡的口音挺熟悉的。）
「What did you do there?」（你去那裡做什麼？）
「I went there to visit my best friend and watch his performance. He is a professional dancer and was invited to perform there. He performed at the biggest theater in Singapore.」（我去拜訪好朋友，順便觀賞他的演出。他是一位專業舞者，受邀去那裡演出。他當時在新加坡最大的劇院表演。）
「You mean “Esplanade”?」（你是指濱海藝術中心嗎？）
「Right! That’s the auditorium6 I visited. It’s huge and with great facilities7. Your government did invest a lot of money in promoting arts.」（沒錯，我就是去那個劇院。它又大設備又好。你們政府在表演藝術方面還真投資不少。）
「Yes. They all come from our tax.」（是啊。那些錢都是來自我們繳的稅啊！）
「I didn’t get your names. My name is Jacky.」（我忘了問你們的名字。我叫傑積）
「My name is Jolene. This is Amy, and this is Jane.」（我叫裘琳。這是愛咪，這是珍。）
「Nice to meet you.」（很高興認識你們。）
「Great to meet you.」（很高興認識你。）
「Where are you heading for ?」（你們要去哪裡？）
「We want to find a good place to enjoy hot spring. Any recom¬mendations ?」（我們想找個好地方泡湯。你推薦哪裡嗎？）
「There are some good hotels with great hot spring facilities in Beitou. Let me see your guidebook... En, actually, all the hot spring hotels listed in your guidebook are famous. I have been to the Pacific Spa, and I am quite sure you will love it.」（在北投有很多好飯店，設備也都很棒。讓我看看你的旅遊指南⋯⋯嗯，其實，旅遊書上介紹的飯店都很有名。我去過太平洋北投溫泉度假飯店，我滿確定你們也會喜歡那兒的。）
「How about the price for entrance ?」（那兒泡湯的入場費是多少？）
「Hey, you guys are from Singapore. You earn much more than we Taiwanese. The price won’t be high to you.」（嘿，你們是從新加坡來的。你們賺得比我們台灣人多得多。這價錢對你們來說怎樣都不會太貴的啦。）
