本誌記述有95種台灣的藤壺全部都有提供型態描述、重要特徵線繪圖和檢索等，大部分亦附有彩色標本照和電子或光學顯微鏡拍攝的口器特寫以利參考鑑別。
This is the first volume of the Taiwan barnacle catalog series which gives an overview of the Thoracican barnacles (excluding the Pyrgomatidae and Acastinae). The catalog reports a total of 95 species of Thoracican barnacles, most of the species are equipped with colour illustration of the specimens, SEM and light microscopy photos of the mouth parts and line drawings of the cirri.
